Malte Brasholz studied chemistry at Freie Universität Berlin and obtained his PhD from the same institution in 2007, under the guidance of Prof. Hans-Ulrich Reissig. A short-term stay in the laboratory of Prof. Hisashi Yamamoto at the University of Chicago in 2008 was followed by one year of postdoctoral research in the group of Prof. Steven V. Ley at the University of Cambridge. A second year of postdoctoral studies led Malte to Australia, where he worked at CSIRO and with Prof. Andrew B. Holmes at the University of Melbourne. From 2012, he has been Assistant Professor at the University of Hamburg. In 2017 he was appointed Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Rostock.

Who are we?

We are a good dozen young researchers and their supervisors and we develop novel catalysts and reactions for a sustainable, green chemistry. In doing so, we combine different approaches from our fields: Chemistry, Biochemistry and Protein Engineering as well as Plasma Physics.
