Dr. Henrik Junge studied chemistry at the University of Rostock, where he completed his PhD thesis in the field of organosilicon chemistry in 1995. From 1995 to 1998 he spent three years in the group of Prof. Dr. G. Oehme at the Institute for Organo-catalytic Research in Rostock, before he joined the group of Prof. Dr. M. Beller at the same institute. From 2000 to 2002 Junge worked at the Institute for agricultural Investigations and Research in Rostock, since 2002 as the deputy leader of the department for analytics of environmental and biological active substances. In 2003 Junge relocated to the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis, where he became the Group Leader for "Catalysis for Energy" in 2009. From 2008 to 2014 Junge was the Chairman of the managing committee of the Hydrogen Technology Initiative Mecklenburg-Western Pommerania. In September 2015 Junge was a visiting professor at the College of Chemical Engineering at of the Zhejiang University of Technology in Hangzhou, China.

Keywords

Junge’s field of research concentrates on homogeneous catalysis, organometallic chemistry, catalytic dehydrogenation, carbon dioxide reduction and catalysts for photocatalytic applications.

Who are we?

We are a good dozen young researchers and their supervisors and we develop novel catalysts and reactions for a sustainable, green chemistry. In doing so, we combine different approaches from our fields: Chemistry, Biochemistry and Protein Engineering as well as Plasma Physics.
